T-Shirt Design for 2008

Here is the design for our club shirts this year. You have to have a sense of humor to fully appreciate it.
John Callihan (2007 alum) created this for us. Club members voted on the shirt and hoody colors and chose lime green and black (go figure).
We will be taking orders from members starting next week. Shirts will be $12 and hoodies will be $20.
Just a reminder these can only be ordered and purchased by club members. Ahhhhhh, as the late Telly Savalas would say, membership has its privileges.

Currently on display at Rushville State Bank

Several students from the Art I classes have drawings on display at Rushville State Bank. Over the past several years Judy Quillen has encouraged our students to display their talents in the bank. We are grateful for the support from Rushville State Bank, especially Judy. Thanks again for the support of young local artists.

Club t-shirt design has been chosen.

Members of the art club selected a design created by RIHS alum John Callihan. The image is of a pirate and the text will read AAAARRRRTTTTTT!

You must have some sense of humor in order to appreciate this idea. I will try and have the image up on the blog sooner than later.

Survey Answer

Salvador Dali is know to have driven through a display window in the NYC Macy's department store. Dali, known for his self-promotion, routinely did off-the-wall things to garner attention. With Dali, any attention, good or bad was considered acceptable.

Just a reminder to all art club members that t-shirt design ideas need to be turned in at tomorrows meeting. Currently we have two designs to choose from. I am aware of at least a couple more. Remember, 7:45 tomorrow.

Artist of the Month

Congratulations to Chelsea Layne! She was selected as the September Artist of the Month by members of the Art Club. She is now eligible to compete for Artist of the Year in May. Here is a sample of her current work. Enjoy.

Smiles Day 2008!

Winner, winner, chicken dinner! That's right, the Art Club received first place for their float entry in the annual Smiles Day Parade. Many thank yous are in order starting with all of the club members who spent homecoming week building the float. This year our design was the brain child of Tara Crow.

Thanks to our sponsors for their donations of resources. They are as follows:

Kevin Grafton for the use of his hay rack.
Jeff Ackman for the use of his truck to pull the float.
Baker's Jewelry - monetary donation.
Special Touch Gift Baskets - monetary donation.
Carthage Vet Clinic - monetary donation.
Kerr Home center - monetary donation.

Thanks again for your support! We could not have done it without you!
I will be posting photos within the next week.

Welcome!
